The aim of this study was to investigate the determinants of environmental attitude and behaviour of students at Shahid Motahari agricultural vocational school of Shiraz. For this purpose, the survey method was used and the data collection was done using a questionnaire which was validated by a group of experts, and the reliability as measured by Cronbach’s alpha were 0.61 to 0.83 for various sectors. The population consisted of all the students in Shahid Motahari agricultural vocational school in the 92-93 school year. Based on Krejcie and Morgan's table of sample size, 80 students were selected through simple random sampling methodology. Findings revealed that second and third-year students have positive attitude and behaviour and environmental factors were in high average and student's access to resources of information is at a low level. Moreover, a significant difference in environmental attitudes of students in the second and third year was not observed. Other results showed that urban students than rural students believe that the crisis is in the environment and students, who showed interest in environmental issues, had a better attitude towards the environment. The regression model indicated that the reference group attitude and access to resources of information, and being farmers' offspring were as important variables in predicting the environmental attitudes of students.

The aim of this paper was to investigate environmental behavior of wheat farmers and its’ affecting factors according to the Stern’s Value-Beliefs-Norm Theory. The statistical population was wheat farmers in Shahid-Abad Dehestan, Fars province that 110 wheat farmers were selected as a sample using Krejcie and Morgan sample size table and cluster random sampling method. The study instrument was a questionnaire which its validity confirmed by a panel of experts and its’ reliability was confirmed using a pilot study and calculating Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. The results indicated that Biospheric and Altruistic values and also place attachment, place dependency, ecological worldview, awareness of consequences, and sense of obligation to take action had significant effects on environmental ethics but environmental ethics remained uncertain in explaining environmental behavior. Therefore, it seems that some moderator variables may change the association between the two variables. Accordingly, two variables of subjective-social norm and access to agricultural resources were identified. The findings of the covariance test showed that environmental ethics in the presence of newly grouped variable has an impact on environmental behavior and the interaction of environmental ethics and grouped variable on environmental behavior is significant.

Reviewing drought literature among nomads revealed that, nomads’ copings mechanisms towards drought are affected by their attitude and perception of drought. Therefore, this survey study aims at investigating nomads’ attitude towards drought and analyzing its contributing factors. The main data gathering device was researcher made questionnaires which were fulfilled by face to face interviews conducted among 200 nomad households living at Derila region, Gachsaran County as the study population. Bartlett’s table was used to determine statistical sample size and 132 households were selected based on randomly quota sampling procedures. Face validity of questionnaires was confirmed by panel of experts and its internal consistency was- further assessed and confirmed by using Chronbach's alpha coefficient growing out of a pilot study (0.61-0.73). Results revealed that nomads held negative attitude toward drought and viewed it as a destroyer and at the same time as controllable phenomenon. Path analysis results showed that the most contribution to nomads' attitude was belonged to awareness towards drought by making direct and positive effect. Similar relations were also observed for number of livestock and household size factors, whereas the grazing capacity license and subjective norms had statistically negative direct effect on attitude towards drought. Finally, the practical suggestions were focused on public investment in order to present and improve farm based extension programs.
